The largest of these technology companies have market values that would rank among the top 10 countries in terms of gross domestic product.1 After exploring the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the economy and financial markets last quarter, let’s take a step back and put into perspective the growth of the information technology (IT) sector and reach of technology companies as a whole.
